SMOOTH ROLLING, WIDE GRIPPY TIRES. PLAYFUL. DURABLE. MADE FOR FUN OFF-THE-BEATEN PATH!

Commencal devotes as much time and energy into developing their kids bikes as they do with their adult range. The Ramones kids range takes advantage of Commencal's knowledge and experience so that all children can start their mountain bike career with the best tool! The Ramones 14 is designed to be a first real mountain bike. It’s the bike your child will remember for the rest of their life. Once they have mastered their balance, these larger bikes will make the pedaling learning process easier and will enable them to discover their first real trails, the pump track and jumps in total safety.

Built by a company with expertise in downhill and enduro bicycles, the Commencal Ramones 14 Bike is an ideal choice for your future mountain biker. The Ramones 14 Bike is designed to be playful, solid and tough enough to enable riding on and off-the-beaten-path. The sloping frame will help your child get on and off the bike easily. In fact, its design is identical to Commencal's adult, higher-end models. This creates a true mountain bike look, just like mom and dad’s bikes!

Components are adapted and adjusted to their size and weight and will surely be important in developing the skills of the new generation of mountain bikers! Jumps and drifts, they’re not even scared! Tektro's child-specific mechanical disc brakes allow for plenty of stopping power with easy to reach brake levers (if the "Freewheel (Disc Brakes)" option is selected). The high quality Aluminum frame ensures a bike light enough for your little rider to easily maneuver with stability and control.

Set the extra wide tires with a lower pressure and your child will have the smoothest, grippiest ride out there, rolling right over all rocks and bumps on the trail.

NEW FOR 2025:

  • Easier to install lightweight handlebar and stem combo.
  • 450mm wide handlebar for comfortable steering.
  • New hubs: sealed bearings, less prominent metal finishes.
  • Integrated disc mount on the hub.
  • Inner tubes with angled valves for easier inflation.

RAMONES 14: Ready to pedal like the grown-ups!

  • High-end design, inspired by Commencal's adult models.
  • Aluminium frame and fork for lightweight robustness.
  • Single-speed transmission: easy learning, reduced maintenance.
  • Protective chain guard to prevent injuries.
  • Adapted crank arms for perfect ergonomics.
  • Tires with large volume and knobby tread: grip and comfort on all terrain.
  • Handlebar and stem specifically for toddlers, 19mm grips.
  • Disc brakes with levers designed for small hands.
  • For kids measuring 95cm - 110cm/3'1" - 3'7".

The Ramones 14" Bike comes standard with a Coaster Brake (back pedal brake system) per CPSP requirement if needed. Default shipping is the Ramones 14" Bike installed with freewheel and rear disc brake at no additional cost. There is no additional cost for the freewheel. Please contact us if you need a coaster brake. This bike includes pedals, bell, lights, and training wheels.

ASSEMBLY

The Commencal Ramones 14" arrives 90% assembled. For final assembly, install pedals, seat post, handlebars and front wheel. Instructions included.

COMMENCAL RAMONES 14 SIZING

WHEEL SIZE 14"
RIDER HEIGHT 37" - 43"
RIDER AGE 3 - 5 years
MINIMUM INSEAM*
(Beginner / Experienced Rider)
16.5" / 15.0"
MAXIMUM INSEAM
(Experienced Rider)
20.5"
SEAT HEIGHT 16.1" - 21.0"
STANDOVER HEIGHT† 15.7"
BIKE WEIGHT (without Pedals) 15.3 lbs.

* MINIMUM INSEAM measurement for a child who is large enough to ride this bike. Beginner (or timid) riders must reach the ground comfortably and flat footed while straddling the seat, meaning their inseam must be close to the minimum seat height. Experienced (or confident) riders will be more comfortable raising their heels off the ground when straddling the seat. See Kids Bike Sizing Guide.
† STANDOVER HEIGHT is measured from the top of the top tube to the ground, passing directly by the front of the chainring.

FITTING YOUR RIDER

Getting your kid on the right size bike is important and easy! All you need is:

  • RIDER INSEAM =  Your child's inseam, measured from the top of the crotch directly to the ground. (This is NOT a pant leg inseam measurement).
  • RIDER EXPERIENCE = Your child's ability, comfort and confidence levels while riding a bike.

With these two pieces of information, you can easily calculate the MINIMUM SEAT HEIGHT your child needs on their new bike.

See our Kids Bike Sizing Guide for more details. And see Choosing the Best Bike for YOUR Child for our comprehensive guide to find your kid's next bike!

If you do have any further questions or concerns about sizing, please contact us and one of our Kids Bike Experts would be happy to help!

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

Our "Ride Happy" Guarantee: We want you to love your purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we offer hassle-free returns on all orders.

You have 30 days from receiving your order to initiate your return with us:

  • Returns must be in NEW condition with original packaging and product tags.

We understand some "dust on the tires," but please keep it new (and hold on to packaging) until you are sure you're keeping it!
  • Your original shipping cost is non-refundable.

Would be nice if handle bars could move up and down since kids grow so fast. Expensive for short li ed.

Super happy!

There was a mix up when ordering and I accidentally received a 14" balance bike instead of the pedal bike. Ready, set, pedal was awesome with the mix up and we returned the balance bike and received the correct 14" pedal bike in no time. My son is pedaling and loves his new bike. Highly recommend. Thanks

Great bike

This bike is awesome. Didn't even know it was going to come with training wheels and lights. Even though its still too tall for her she is learning the coordination of pedaling and braking with the training wheels on. Seems to be a solid bang for your buck. Great product and our daughter loves it.

Great quality bike from what I can tell initially. My biggest complaint is how heavy they are! Coming from a strider that my twin boys can rip around really well, they’ve really struggled with the transition to these bikes.

What a great bike for the advanced bike kids. Brakes that small hands can use and a free hub so they can adjust their feet and not slam the brakes.

Very good but not perfect

Brakes rub despite lots of trouble shooting. It’s not terrible but obviously no rub would be preferred, seems like rotors are not straight. Everything else is great though

Awesome little bike!

I write this with the caveat that my son's 4th birthday is two weeks away and we haven't given it to him yet. However, the bike appears to be very solid! We bought the freewheel disc brake set up because on a test ride of a pedal brake bike, my son kept accidentally spinning backwards and of course stopping all of the momentum he just gained. I could not be more happy with how this bike looks. He's certainly going to love it as his first upgrade from a strider bike which he has begun calling a "toy bike". I checked the brakes, spun the hub backwards and spun both wheels and all seemed to be perfect right out of the box! When I say the bike is "solid" I mean it. The only downfall I see is that it's a little on the heavy side. Hopefully, when we take the training wheels off it will be light enough for him to move around on his own (small for his age). On top of that, the packaging was really good. Everything was tied tight together and wrapped with Styrofoam to eliminate any rubbing of the parts during shipment. Overall, very satisfied!

Such an amazing Bike!

My 2 1/2 year old wanted a bike with pedals so he can start going on the big jumps with his brother and I (it’s not going to happen for a long time). I ordered this bike for him since he can get his feet on the ground and he loves it! We have had the pedals off and he’s gliding around, using the brakes, and getting the feel for a freewheel. I would recommend this for the transition from strider to pedals.

High Quality Helps

Our 14” bike was pretty easy to assemble and was just what our son needed to take his riding up a notch. It also made him much faster on our rides. It’s not the lightest, but the large tires help to keep cruising! He’s definitely getting stronger and having a lot of fun on this bike. I highly recommend Ready Set Pedal as well.

Great service

Bike was delivered quickly and showed up with no damage. Only issue is the back rim needs straightedges out of the box it was noticeable wobbly.

Such a rad little bike!!!

We were looking at a few other bikes for our 3 year old's first pedal bike. He's pretty tall for his age but not quite tall enough for a 16" and the 14" bikes were rare, to say the least. I saw this Commencal in 14" and knew it was the bike for my little ripper. We had a little bad luck with a defect in the rear hub but RSP and Commencal took care of it quickly. We've had nothing but awesome rides with the replacement bike for weeks now with no end to the fun in sight. People ask us everywhere we go about the bike so be prepared to tell everyone about readysetpedal and this super trail-ready Ramones!

Excellent Service, Fantastic Bike!

My four year old loves this bike. He immediately adjusted to the freewheel and hand brakes and I feel he is safer now as he doesn't slam on the coaster brake at higher speeds and skid out of control (kind of similar to why we have anti lock brakes on cars, they need to implement this with kids bikes too, coaster brakes suck!).

People are astonished when I tell them what we paid for a 14" kids bike but they clearly don't see the value in spending more money for so much better quality, especially when it comes to bikes specially made to fit kids which makes the overall operation of the bike easier for their smaller bodies and weaker strength.

Walmart bikes just don't cut it when you take mountain biking seriously, even for the little ones. You will spend more money replacing the bike and parts from kid abuse and emergency rooms than you would if you just bought a quality bike from the start. Quality parts can handle more abuse. Also, high end brand bikes hold much more value over time which means you can sell the bike and recoop some money for the next size up while providing a well taken care of quality bike to another child prodigy mountain biker.

Plus, it motivates you as a parent to teach them the proper way to take care of a bike because of how much it costs.

My 4 yo's first pedal bike. Awesome!

My son has been riding a balance bike (his 1st bike) for just about a year. The balance bike had a rear brake attached to the handle bars. He had mastered the bike and I felt it was time to transition him to a pedal bike. I did not want him to have a coaster brake as I felt it was counter-intuitive as no other future bike would have a coater brake. I had extreme difficulty finding a 14" bike that did not have a coater brake- in fact very few of them came with anything BUT a coater brake. Of those I did find with brakes - they were only on the front tire. Unacceptable. Finally my search led me to the Commencal Ramones 14" Mtn Bike. It hit all the sweet spots - save for the price. It was definitely more than I intended to spend on a bike that would likely only last 1 - 2 years. I did find a few others in the high-end market that fit the bill but they cost even more. I decided that quality and meeting expectations was worth the money and I am glad that I made the choice to buy. Ready, Set, Pedal did a great job of answering my questions and I had the bike in time for my son's birthday. Total time from purchase to delivery was a mere 3 days. Great service. Great bike. My son loves it!

Great

Bought this bike on recommendation for my daughter's 4th birthday. She had mastered the balance bike months ago. Great size. Seems like good quality. I didn't anticipate having to put it together, which was my fault. It's probably on the heavier side, but it was one of the cheaper good quality bikes out there, so I'm willing to sacrifice the lighter weight for a less expensive bike.

Ok

Shipping was great. Product so, so. Wheels and brakes didn’t line up properly. I don’t know if this is a product defect or defective from ready set pedal.
