When you shop with Ready Set Pedal we want you to love your purchase, but we understand that returns and exchanges are sometimes necessary. If you are not completely satisfied, we offer hassle-free returns on all orders within 30-days. Shop confidently with our "Ride Happy" Guarantee.

Returns & Exchanges Policy

You have 30 days from receiving your order to initiate your return with us.

  • Returns must be in NEW condition with original packaging and product tags.
  • You are responsible for packaging and return shipping. You may purchase a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label, which will likely be your least expensive return option due to our discounted rates.
  • We encourage testing your new item to ensure fit and/or function, but please keep it in new condition (and hold on to packaging) until you are sure you are keeping it!
  • Your original shipping cost is non-refundable.

All items must be returned in new condition and with original packaging and product tags. If items are not returned in new condition with original packaging and product tags, your return may be rejected or subject to a restocking fee.

Once your return reaches us, we will process it and issue your refund, credit, and/or exchange. You will be notified via email when your return has been processed.

If you experience an order issue (i.e. missing, incorrect or damaged) or a warranty/defect issue, please see more details below on what to do prior to returning this product.

How to Return an Item

STEP 1: Begin your return through the following form. Please include:

  • Topic: "Returns & Exchanges Request"
  • Order #
  • Product(s) being returned
  • Reason for return

If you are interested in a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label (at our discounted rates), please request one at this time. We will email you a return shipping label and a quoted cost. You may always choose not to use this return shipping label. If you do use it, the quoted cost will be deducted from your refund. If you choose not to use it, you may disregard the label. You will only be charged for a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label if it is used.

STEP 2: Pack your return in an appropriately sized package (with adequate protective packaging).

  • If returning a bike, please see below for additional advice on properly repacking bikes.
  • Include a copy of your original invoice or a short note with your Order # and name.
  • If returning for an exchange, please note the new product that you would like in exchange.

Return Policy Details

Return Timeline: You have 30 days from receiving your order to initiate your return with us. We must receive your return within 45 days from when you received your order regardless of when you initiated your return. (Reasonable exceptions are made for return shipments that are delayed in transit).

Processing Timeline: Once your return reaches us, we will process your return and issue your necessary refund, credit, and/or exchange. Returns may take up to 5 business days to process.

Refunds: Refunds will be issued to your original method of payment (or as an exchange/credit if you prefer). Your original shipping cost (from when you first purchased the product) is non-refundable, as described in Shipping Information. You will be notified via email when your return has been processed. Refunds may take 3-5 business days to post (depending on your financial institution).

Credits: Store credits will be issued via an electronic gift card. You will be notified via email when an electronic gift card is issued.

All Ready Set Pedal returns are processed through our Colorado fulfillment center. Please mail all returns to:

Please do NOT mail your return back to the manufacturer. Some of our products ship directly from the product manufacturer, but all Ready Set Pedal returns are processed at the above address.

Purchasing a Return Shipping Label

You are responsible for the cost of return shipping. If interested you may purchase a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label from us. We offer this both for your convenience (to easily print a shipping label at home) and because our shipping labels are likely less expensive, due to our discounted shipping rates, than what you would pay to ship your return. After requesting your Ready Set Pedal return shipping label, you may always choose not to use it, in which case you may disregard the label. You will only be charged for a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label if it is used.

The cost of our return shipping labels vary, as we generate your label based on the specifics of your return (product, location, etc.). The cost quoted to you is the actual shipping rate (i.e. there is no markup).

As a guideline the cost of your Ready Set Pedal return shipping label will be similar to the shipping fee originally paid for your order. Here are some general ranges for different product categories:

  • Small Accessories/Apparel (under 1 lbs.): $4-$8
  • Small Accessories/Apparel (over 1 lbs.): $9-$12
  • Accessories: $8-$20 (these products vary greatly in size)
  • Helmets: $12-$15
  • Small Bikes (12"-16"): $15-$25
  • Medium Bikes (18"-20"): $25-$40
  • Large Bikes (24"-26"): $35-$65
  • Oversized Bikes: ~$150

If you are interested in a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label, please request one when initiating your return. We will email you a return shipping label and a quoted cost for using this label. If you choose to use this return shipping label, the quoted cost will be deducted from your refund. If you choose not to use this return shipping label, nothing needs to be done and you may disregard the return label. You will only be charged for a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label if it is used.

How to Exchange an Item

Items can be exchanged subject to the same 30 day return policy described above. Exchanged items must still be returned in new condition and with original packaging and product tags.

If you would like to exchange an item, the quickest and easiest way to receive your new item is to place a new order for that item, in which case we will ship your new item immediately. Separately, you can go ahead with returning your original order. Once your return reaches us, we will process your return and issue your refund.

If you'd prefer not to place an additional order for your new item, we are happy to make your exchange once we receive your return. In this case, please follow the return steps above and include a note that specifies the new product you would like in exchange. We will make your exchange as soon as we have received and processed your return.

All exchanges are subject to stock availability.

Testing an Item for Fit and/or Function

We understand the need to try an item, and we encourage testing your new item to ensure fit and/or function. When doing so, please leave all original tags on your product and keep all original packaging until you are sure you are keeping it. All items must be returned in new condition and with original packaging and product tags.

Regarding bikes, please take it for a "test ride" to make sure it's right for your Rider! Our standard for still being in new condition after a "test ride" is similar to a local bike shop offering test rides outside its shop. We recommend testing it on clean pavement or dry grass. We understand some "dust on the tires," but please take effort to keep it in new condition. Additionally, keep all original packaging until you are sure you are keeping it.

How to Properly Repackage Your Bike Return

When returning a bike, please make sure it is repacked as well (if not better) than it arrived to you. Shipping on these bike packages can be brutal, so please take the time to pack it well.

To begin repacking your bike, retrace the assembly manual backwards in order to disassemble the bike to how it arrived. Generally, this includes uninstalling the pedals, front wheel, and handlebar (although the brake cables will remain connected). We encourage you to use as much foam padding and/or bubble wrap as possible and secure it with masking tape. Zip ties can be helpful as well for holding pieces in place. Make sure all the small parts and accessories are separately boxed and/or well secured, as it is small pieces like this sliding around loosely that can often scratch the frame. Finally, we recommend using additional cardboard to create "walls" inside the box between different parts of the bike. Specifically, we find it very effective to add a wall between the frame and the front wheel (when the front wheel is uninstalled and packed in the box), as the front wheel's axle and spokes are most likely to scratch the frame of the bike.

To help visualize the above description, check out this great YouTube video on properly packing a bike for shipping. Although it is an adult sized bike in this video, most of it is relevant to packing a smaller children's bike. Typically, repacking a kids bike is easier as there is relatively more room available in the box.

If you do have concerns about packing your bike for return shipping, most local bike shops will disassemble and professionally package your bike for a fee. However, we don't believe that to be necessary. We are confident that you can do a great job if you follow the above directions. It is quite rare that we receive a bike damaged in return shipping due to poor repackaging, although it does happen from time to time.

Returns Not in New Condition

If items are not returned in new condition with original packaging and product tags, your return may be rejected or subject to a restocking fee. If you have any concerns, please contact us prior to returning your item, as we are here to ensure you are happy with your Ready Set Pedal shopping experience.

Warranty/Product Defects

Ready Set Pedal stands behind all products we sell. Most of our brands (including all bikes) offer a manufacturer's warranty. If you experience a warranty issue/defect with your product, we will work directly with the manufacturer (on your behalf) to evaluate and process your warranty claim. If the issue/defect is deemed eligible to be covered under warranty, we work to get you a product/part replacement or refund as quickly as possible.

Please contact us for support prior to returning a product for a potential warranty issue or defect. We will direct you you through the proper steps depending on your unique circumstance.

Order Issues (Missing, Incorrect, Damaged)

Although we strive to be error-free with order fulfillment, issues do arise from time to time. If an item is missing, incorrect, defective or damaged, please contact us upon receiving your order. Our customer service team will work to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

Original Shipping Cost

Your original shipping cost (from when you first purchased the product) is non-refundable (including any applicable importing fees, duties or taxes on international orders).

Our Price Match Guarantee

To ensure that our customers are receiving the best prices available, we are happy to offer our Price Match Guarantee. Although we have a number of specific considerations for authorizing a price match, we try to make the process as straightforward as possible.

If you find the exact same product elsewhere at a cheaper price (inclusive of shipping and ready to ship today), we will match that price.

This guarantee is available to our customers both:

  • Prior to placing an order (i.e. we will discount an item for you as a "price match" before you have ordered)
  • For up to 30 days after placing your order (i.e. if you find this item cheaper within 30 days of placing your order, we will refund you to match the price)
Alaska/Hawaii and International Returns

Orders shipped outside of the contiguous U.S. (Alaska/Hawaii and all international locations) are eligible to be returned under the policy described above.

Alaska and Hawaii: You may purchase a Ready Set Pedal return shipping label from us, which will likely be your least expensive return option. As a general guideline, the cost of your Ready Set Pedal return shipping label will be similar to the shipping fee originally paid for your order.

International: We are unable to offer return shipping labels for purchase. Please ship your returns to the above address.
