Excited about curb drops, trail riding, and of course, sprinting around the neighborhood? This bike is for you! This feathery, lightweight kids bike for girls or boys, weighs in at just 16 lbs. The expert bike geometry centers the weight between the rider’s hands and seat, creating a stable, agile bike. A slightly more forward riding position makes this a great choice for a slightly more aggressive rider. Now with Riser Handlebar for easier reach!

First time riders feel safest with their bottom on the saddle and their feet flat on the ground. That's how a child with an 18" inseam will fit the Hedgehog with the seat post dropped as low as possible. Once kids get more comfortable on two wheels, they'll want to sit on the saddle with the balls of their feet on the ground. Thus, a confident rider with a 17" inseam and a first-time rider with a 19" inseam may both feel comfortable with the same set-up on their Hedgehogs.
All Hedgehog 16" single speed bikes arrive 90% assembled. All you need to do is install the pedals, seatpost, handlebars and front wheel, as outlined in the Cleary Bikes Assembly Manual and seen on our Assembly Videos.
The Cleary Bikes Lifetime Warranty stands behind each of our bikes for as long as you ride it. Meaning, the original purchaser has a Lifetime Warranty against any and all manufacturer's defects on the bikes. Go ride hard.
You have done the analysis and I'm sure that all the bikes you offer are good. My 3 & 3/4 yo boy loves his new bike. Upgrading from a 14" Specialized. This is probably lighter. But it's not "super light". I am very happy with the quality of the bike and look forward to good adventures!
Overall experience was great. Easy order process, fast delivery. Only thing is the handle bar reflector doesn’t fit well on the bike. Minor I know but it was only downside.
Ordering from RSP was super easy, shipping was quick! The bike went together fairly easily, but the front wheel wouldn't spin freely. I only have basic assembly skills, so I had to take it into the local shop for adjustment of the wheel / brakes. All good, in the end, because the kiddo loves it!
The Clearly Hedge hog shipped right away and arrived the same week. My almost 5 year old son loves the bike. The bike quality seems great so far. The front wheel needed a little adjust of the spokes to take out the wobble but otherwise a small amount of assembly and adjusting to fit my son went smoothly. The bike is several pounds lighter than the 14" that he was riding. I was nervous about the transition away from a coaster brake to hand brakes with free wheel but it only took him about 10 minutes of practice on level and downhill slopes to get comfortable.
Highly recommend! I know it’s on the pricey side for a kids bike, but my 4 year old started riding the Gecko, then a friend’s 4 year old learned to ride on two wheels on it. My daughter didn’t have these options and learned to ride on two wheels at 7...big difference. You won’t regret this purchase. We have the hedgehog now that we’ve grown out of the Gecko
