Built by a company with expertise in downhill and enduro bicycles, the Commencal Ramones 14" Bike is an ideal choice for your future mountain biker. The Ramones 14" Bike is designed to be playful, solid and tough enough to enable riding on and off-the-beaten-path. The sloping frame will help your child get on and off the bike easily. In fact, its design is identical to Commencal's adult, higher-end models. This creates a true mountain bike look, just like mom and dad’s bikes!
Components are adapted and adjusted to their size and weight and will surely be important in developing the skills of the new generation of mountain bikers! Jumps and drifts, they’re not even scared! Tektro's child-specific mechanical disc brakes allow for plenty of stopping power with easy to reach brake levers (if the "Freewheel (Disc Brakes)" option is selected). The high quality Aluminum frame ensures a bike light enough for your little rider to easily maneuver with stability and control.
Set the extra wide tires with a lower pressure and your child will have the smoothest, grippiest ride out there, rolling right over all rocks and bumps on the trail.
The Ramones 14" Bike comes standard with a Coaster Brake (back pedal brake system) per CPSP requirement. To receive your Ramones 14" Bike installed with freewheel and rear disc brake at no additional cost, please select this option. There is no additional cost for the freewheel. This bike includes pedals, bell, front and rear lights, and training wheels.
ASSEMBLY
The Commencal Ramones 14" arrives 90% assembled. For final assembly, install pedals, seat post, handlebars and front wheel. Instructions included.

After contacting the company, they wanted me to fill out a warranty claim rather than just sending me a bolt. Bike seems fine but I wish the customer service was better.

My kid was resistant to moving up from his beloved 14" Ramones but once it arrived and he test rode it, he hasn't looked back! Super easy to assemble and arrived within a few days of ordering. The only little thing is that one of the front rubber gaskets covering the front wheel bearings is rubbing somewhere slightly which is creating a sort of singing noise. I'm hoping it eventually wears in enough that it stops.

Brakes rub despite lots of trouble shooting. It’s not terrible but obviously no rub would be preferred, seems like rotors are not straight. Everything else is great though

I bought the 14" version of this bike for my daughter and didn't didn't have to think twice about buying 16" version, once she was big enough. It might be a couple of pounds heavier than some of the alternatives, but I can (well, she can) deal with that for the better modulation of disks over v-brakes. At 3 she's already smashing trails around Whistler on it!

I write this with the caveat that my son's 4th birthday is two weeks away and we haven't given it to him yet. However, the bike appears to be very solid! We bought the freewheel disc brake set up because on a test ride of a pedal brake bike, my son kept accidentally spinning backwards and of course stopping all of the momentum he just gained. I could not be more happy with how this bike looks. He's certainly going to love it as his first upgrade from a strider bike which he has begun calling a "toy bike". I checked the brakes, spun the hub backwards and spun both wheels and all seemed to be perfect right out of the box! When I say the bike is "solid" I mean it. The only downfall I see is that it's a little on the heavy side. Hopefully, when we take the training wheels off it will be light enough for him to move around on his own (small for his age). On top of that, the packaging was really good. Everything was tied tight together and wrapped with Styrofoam to eliminate any rubbing of the parts during shipment. Overall, very satisfied!
