Frog Bikes believes that the lighter the bike, the easier it is for children to learn to ride, so they'll enjoy it more!   Many kids' bikes on the market weigh nearly as much as the child. Frog set about re-designing kids' bikes, creating a light but strong aluminum frame, and hand-picking quality components that offer a high performance without compromising the weight.

The 14" Frog 40 is the ideal first pedal bike.  Extremely light at only 13.9 lbs, the Frog 40 inspires confidence by making it easier to maneuver for small children.  Perfect for chasing bigger kids in the park!   Suitable for riders aged 3-4 years old with a minimum inside leg height of 40cm (15"). From start to finish, this bike was designed with kids in mind.

The Frog 40 bike features:

• Patented Frog Cranks:  Reduced distance between pedals increases efficiency and comfort
• Easy Reach Tektro Hand Brakes with adjustable levers to make braking easier for smaller hands.  Better control means improved confidence for young riders.
• Kenda knobby off-road tires (that also work well on the road or bike path)
• Safety Steering Lock: Prevents oversteering which can cause an accident.  Safer for learners, but still super nimble for more aggressive riders!
• Mudguards you can easily install if you ride regularly where the mud is flying. 
• Soft handlebar grips 
• 14" wheels
• A bell to let others know you're approaching
• 6 reflectors (1 for the front, 1 for the back and 4 for the wheels).
• The Frog 40 comes with the freewheel installed. The coaster brake kit is available upon request.

Assembly:  

All Frog 40 bikes arrive 90% assembled. All you need to do is install the pedals, seatpost, handlebars and front wheel.  If you decide you want the optional mud guards and full chain guard on your bike, these will need to be installed also.  

Our professional bike technician looks over every bike before it ships and switches the hand brakes to be standard for the US (rear on the right, front on the left).
